“Walktober” was created in 2023 by the Lane Council of Governments, and 2025 marks our third year of celebrating!

The goal of Walktober in Lane County is to inspire people to get out and explore their community on foot. Walking is a simple mode of transportation that’s easy to overlook, yet it offers benefits for both mental and physical well-being—and helps strengthen our connection to the places we live.

We’re excited to share our love of walking with you and hope you’ll join us during Walktober—and keep walking long after!
